This Gay-Friendly Taco Bell Ad Isn't Real, But The Company Is Still Pretty Impressed By It

These two guys falling in love over breakfast tacos has us all turning into heart-eye emojis.

Update: Taco Bell's PR reached out to MTV News with the following statement regarding the ad:

"We didn’t create this ad, but we can see the people who did share the same Live Mas passion for our brand—and our breakfast—as we do. Although we cannot condone unauthorized use of our intellectual property, we are impressed with their work and would be open to meeting with them."

That's not quite a co-sign but it's still a pretty friendly reaction considering the copyright violations, right?

Original story below.

Though we have no idea if it's actually legitimate or not, we have got to give major kudos to Taco Bell if this gay-friendly TV ad is real.

Because, you know, it's not every day you see such a liberal take on social norms in a fast-food commercial.

Though the restaurant chain has yet to comment on the ad's origins and authenticity, we're really sorta hoping that it is real. Not because we enjoy the convenience of a speedy breakfast — so fast, in fact, you could fall in love, get married, and hunt for buried treasure in the time it takes to get your AM grub on anywhere else — but because it's, frankly, just nice to not see the gay community catered to in advertisements.

What's more normalizing than having your demographic targeted by fast food chains, right? This is capitalism at work, but it's actually accomplishing something good.

And showing how fast and convenient their morning service is, without there any cloying stereotypes used is a huge step. So now all we have to do is wait and see if Taco Bell confirms its authenticity. I mean, it does look like all the other Taco Bell ads out there in the world — but who knows? It could just be a very creative advertising class project, you know? Now, is anyone else craving a taco?
